An undetailed 3D model of a human heart created by Anna Sieban was downloaded from E-Learning UMCG’s sketchfab page. The downloaded model was imported into Adobe Medium, a virtual reality digital model sculpting program. There, the anatomy faculty member added more detailed topology, accentuated anatomical features, and added realistic coloring to the model.
The model was then imported into Blender, an open source 3D creation suite, to optimize the mesh and texture and add additional assets such as structure labels. From Blender the model is imported into the scene editor for Mozilla Hubs called Mozilla Spoke to create the walkways, platforms, and internal links for the experience.
